linda so is live in towson where love spent now years before heading off to college. imagine this was emotional. >> reporter: very emotional when the field was dedicated yesterday. it's a new field, a new turf, for the students here it's great. soccer, field hockey and lacrosse, will get to play every year, something that would have made love happy. her mother, sharon, and her sister, lexi, were here to dedicate the field, the project took 18 months of planning, and $1.2 million in donations by the 1 love foundation, mvp and bower foundation. love played lacrosse and feel hockey behind notre dame prop before going on to uva where she was killed bay ex-boyfriend days before she was to graduate. her mother and sister working on the field helped them get through some of to darkest days. >> it gave us something
